VOIDGIRL
Dan is a sheepish victim of infatuation, and emotional
basket case. He meets Emma, a mysterious girl who
opens him up to new ideas. Unfortunately, she’s not here
to stay. Dan is forced to make a decision to leave with
Emma or stay here, stuck in his dead-end job and
monotonous daily life.
This film covers a plethora of topics that are quite
prevalent in our generation: love, technology,
depression, suicide, and heartbreak. The pacing of
this piece has been the hardest, yet most rewarding,
element of my position as editor. Making sure to get
the timing just right in order to maintain the overall
tone that Brendan–our director–envisioned has given me confidence in my skills for future projects. On top of that, being able to put ourselves in a position where we can sit back and envision the impact that this will have on viewers has been an especially interesting challenge. Understanding that this film can resonate with individuals who have experienced relationships similar to Dan and Emma made us want to work even harder to get this right.
